Resource Room Setup | Classroom Reveal

Every special ed classroom set up is different. Truthfully, no two classrooms are the same. But that doesn’t mean we can’t collaborate and get ideas from one another.

This is my classroom for the 2013-2014 school year as a 5th Grade Resource Teacher.

I’ve been in my new school for a little over a month now and I feel like my room is finally where I want it to be. I’m sure I’ll make a few changes as the year goes on, but for now I’m happy with it. 🙂

Here are some pictures to show you just how different it is than on my first day.

AFTER
 (my desk area)
(multiplication mastery board – my students sign the # when they past those facts)

 (C bucks board – school-wide behavior incentives)

 (math station and homework center)
(homework station)
(birthday board – that isn’t finished yet)
 (literacy and writing stations)
 (Classroom jobs and behavior chart)
(the proud wall and classroom library)
(their pledges from the beginning of the year and what they hope to accomplish this school year)
 (word wall)

 (classroom view)

 (SWBAT objectives)
(The bulletin board behind my desk. I love sharing pictures of my life and my past students with my current class.)

Phew… I forgot how hard much fun it was to decorate a classroom. Lot’s of work, but definitely worth it!

I’ve gotten a lot of compliments from my co-workers, too… which makes me feel like the change in the room was a good one!
